Anville’s new print- DMC-12 Nakatomi mailing list exclusive!

No comments:

Anville approached Nakatomi in Flatstock Austin and let them know what a big fan he was. What he didn’t know is that Nakatomi were big fans of his.

That mutual appreciation society has borne fruit. Stainless steel fruit, traveling at 88mph.

The above detail shot is from a larger print that will go on sale to the Nakatomi mailing list later this week. If you want it…I’d really suggest being on the mailing list. Full details, image, and purchasing instructions will go out on Wednesday.

Scene on the Streets - TrustoCorp Stencil

No comments:

One again the ITRPF street team brings it to you first. Seems Detroit has been visited by another artist. This time its TrustoCorp. TrustoCorp is a New York based artist (or artists) dedicated to highlighting the hypocrisy and hilarity of human behavior through sarcasm and satire. TrustoCorp targets areas in the public domain typically reserved for messages of trust and authority and subverts them with messages of mayhem and absurdity hijacked from the visual style of our authorities. They recently hit New York with a bunch of "street signs", check out their website to see them they are brilliant.

This was found the other day. Its huge stencil almost 7 feet tall and looks badass. I'm sure there are more out there some where.

I am making a very limited release on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 9 am PST.

Massive Attack at The Warfield Poster art by Chris Shaw and Chuck Sperry Tuesday & Wednesday, 24 & 25 May 2010 Firehouse Goldenvoice Series Number 104

Edition of 150

3 colors on archival cream paper 23″ x 35″Signed and Numbered

You may be wondering whats up with the crazy pattern on the boat. It was used during World War 1 and some what in WW2 to confuse the enemies tracking and radar systems its called dazzle look here

The dazzle camo was an early futurist artist application to military use.
It used the science of vision to confuse the object - confound detection - and camoflage something as big as a ship on the open ocean.
Optical art of the 1960-1970s used the same principles - Chris and Chuck just combined the two - brought the optical art themes together in one piece.

Chuck has an affinity to the optical theories inherent in these thematic strings in Art History - using patternization - like WSP - to express psychedelic images -to describe and define subject and ground.

Like the past recent releases these are some really nice prints
Tamara Davis – Video Still
Studio Number One designed the opening titles for Jean-Michel Basquiat: The Radiant Child, inspired by bebop jazz album covers and the works of the legendary Saul Bass. Designer Kristian Henson explains: “We felt like Basquiat, in his own way, was a jazz musician: the frenetic energy in his pieces, his improvisation. His work shares his soul, very much the same way Charlie Parker or Dizzy Gillespie worked.”

A Film by Tamra Davis
opens in Theaters July 21, 2010
on DVD November 2010
an Arthouse Films release
Centered on a rare interview that director and friend Tamra Davis shot with Basquiat over twenty years ago, this definitive documentary chronicles the meteoric rise and fall of the yound artist. In the crime-ridden NYC of the 1970s, he covers the city with the graffiti tag SAMO. In 1981 he puts paint on canvas for the first time, and by 1983 he is an artist with “rock star status.” He achieves critical and commercial success, though he is constantly confronted by racism from his peers. In 1985 he and Andy Warhol become close friends and painting collaborators, but they part ways and Warhol dies suddenly in 1987. Basquiat’s heroin addiction worsens, and he dies of an overdose in 1988 at the age of 27. The artist was 25 years old at the height of his career, and today his canvases sell for more than a million dollars. With compassion and psychological insight, Tamra Davis details the mysteries that surround this charismatic young man, an artist of enormous talent whose fortunes mirrored the rollercoaster quality of the downtown scene he seemed to embody. JEAN-MICHEL BASQUIAT: THE RADIANT CHILD will open July 21, 2010 exclusively at New York’s Film Forum. (
Featuring interviews with Julian Schnabel, Larry Gagosian, Bruno Bischofberger, Tony Shafrazi, Fab 5 Freddy, Jeffrey Deitch, Glenn O’Brien, Maripol, Kai Eric, Nicholas Taylor, Fred Hoffmann, Michael Holman, Diego Cortez, Annina Nosei, Suzanne Mallouk, Rene Ricard, Kenny Scharf, among many others.

Eye catching, colorful, bold, fantastic and at most times psychedelic is how many describe American artist, Oliver Hibert’s style of artwork. Oliver Hibert was born in Seattle, Washington in 1983. Surrounded by a supportive family of artists, it is no wonder Oliver Hibert began creating art and drawing at a young age. Self taught and determined, Oliver Hibert made his debut in galleries at the age of sixteen. Shortly thereafter, came the impressive art shows at the Phoenix Art Museum and the Tucson Museum of Contemporary Art in Arizona. Oliver Hibert’s bright palette and magical scenes caught the attention of MTV for a music video at the age of eighteen. Oliver Hibert’s particular style of fine art and design is what has caught the attention of numerous retail stores, galleries and museums from L.A. and New York to Hong Kong and London to Paris and Australia. Hibert’s vivid and colorific designs can be recognized on shoes, skateboards, magazine covers, clothing and vinyl toys, to name a few. Clients such as MTV, Nike and Yellow Book also value the unique and intriguing artwork of Hibert.

In May of 2008, Oliver Hibert’s work for the London Designers Block show was short listed and exhibited for The Design of the Year Show at the London Design Museum.

Oliver Hibert describes his art as an escape from the mundane, influenced, at times heavily by the music, colors and imagery of the psychedelic 60’s era. Hibert’s iconic style transcends time as it nods to the past, while being so contemporized that it speaks to the future. The art is smothered with busy patterns, alluring figures, super bright colors and plenty of exclamation marks.

With Oliver Hibert’s stunning array of art, design and illustration work he certainly has a bright future ahead.

Currently, Oliver Hibert works and resides in Scottsdale, Arizona on his desert farm of cacti and one thousand peacocks.

is Water. Each poster is different in it's own right, and not necessarily
a "set". Once again, these will not ship until a few days before the Poland
show on July 1st.
