Jason Limon's Luna art print on sale

“I am an observer of our world, silently scanning its elements and the beings who move among them. My mind absorbs and overflows with thoughts and emotions with no way to be revealed but through marks on a blank surface. There is a curious young soul within me that begs to show its existence. My mind drifts to far of places in hopes of returning with fragments of memories and dreams to share with others. I create so that I may speak. With every image released I step further away from the shadows of my past and into the bright lights of a happier place.” – Jason Limon

Don't shoot for the moon in Jason Limon's haunting work Luna. Your eyes will rest inevitably on the moth perched on our hero's right hand - and it is THIS symbol that serves as the thematic motif. Limon, a master of surrealism, has created a dark wedding cake of detail. Start at the bottom where black waters have nourished a thing that is either a poisonous plant or a witch's altar; note the coils that have patiently wrapped themselves around the skeleton; and now surmise what would have led this pilgrim to his fate. Was the graceful winged thing the prize he was seeking? Or did he reach out with his last gasp of strength in order to see something beautiful before his eyes - and before death closed his eyes forever? This is a sobering reverie about mortality and irony. More so, it has within it a plaintive whisper of defiant passion. – Robert del Valle
