Fargo and Gene Ween posters by Todd Slater

Still getting caught up on stuff after being knocked on my ass last week. Todd Slater has a couple of sweet posters for sale. One is a Fargo movie poster done for the Quentin vs. Coen show at Spoke Art in San Francisco, and the other is a Gene Ween print for his most recent show in Austin.

Gene Ween 18 x 24 – 5 color silkscreen – S/N edition of 150 - For Todd, the cuckoo clock is the perfect piece of nostalgia that takes him back to his Grandmother's dining room.

Fargo 18 x 24 – 3 color silkscreen – S/N edition of 150 - This print was commissioned by San Francisco's Spoke Art Gallery for their Quentin vs. Coen show. The actual title of the print is "Margie" after Frances McDormand's character in the film. When he watchs Fargo Todd is left thinking about the wintery landscape of the Dakota's, the grisly violence throughout the film and the purity of Marge Gunderson's character. He wanted to combine these three elements in the print. The bloodshed is subtly represented with a blend of white snowflakes fading into a deep red hue.
